Troy Snelling, Auctioneer

Troy Snelling is a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Troy has a BA in History, an MA in Education and over 50 graduate hours of study in both subjects. He taught Classical History, Philosophy and Western Civilization at Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri for 27 years. He was twice VFW Regional Teacher of the Year. Currently serving as Vice President of the Excelsior Springs Board of Education, he has spent a lifetime involved in his community.

Troy graduated from Missouri Auction School at the age of 16, and has worked part time in that profession since 1982, and holds a current auctioneer’s license. He is the regular auctioneer for the Gregg Williams Foundation, the Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild, and the Johnson County Numismatic Society. Troy has been avid numismatist since childhood, he is currently specializing in US National Bank Notes, ancient coins and the coins and bank notes of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth.
